ha detto Nick il 22 Luglio in un intervista telefonica da Los Angeles dopo la performance al Lopez Tonight.
"Alcuni fans sono un po' invecchiati, ma portano dietro di sè persone più giovani. C'è sempre sangue fresco per i Backstreet Boys (ragazzi permettetemi un commento...inquietante ndr)".
Nick è certamente il più giovane della band, ha 30 anni, Howie ne ha 36, Brian 35 e AJ 32."Gli anni vanno sommandosi...ma noi guardiamo al futuro, senza vivere nel passato".
I fans comunque si aspettano di sentire le hits del passato ai concerti.
"Un sacco di gente viene per sentire le vecchie canzoni...e noi diamo loro tutte le nostre hits, di sicuro ad un nostro concerto sentirai 'I want it that way', beh, se vai ad un concerto di Prince vorrai sentire '1999' e 'Raspberry Beret' ".
I Backstreet Boys hanno attirato una maggioranza di pubblico femminile negli anni '90 come oggi,
Nick spiega che :
"E' femminile circa il 75% del nostro pubblico, metti insieme nonne e nipoti ed avrai un nostro show. Ma ci sono anche alcuni ragazzi”.Nick pensa che molti di quelli che si recavano ai loro concerto da teen agers ci vanno ancora adesso .
" Forse vediamo sempre la stessa gente...ma è difficile da capire, quando sei sul palco. Ma sembrano un poì invecchiati...forse vicini alla nostra età"
La vita personale dei BSB nel corso degli anni è cambiata, Brian e Howie sono sposati, Nick e AJ ancora no...
"Sia io che AJ abbiamo una fidanzata"Il gruppo ha realizzato "This Is us" l'anno scorso. Dopo due album più adulti sono tornati ad un genere più pop e dance.
"E' la rinascita di questo gruppo...una nuova era, un palo nel terreno sulla Luna, è l'inizio di ciò che sta per arrivare".
Per quanto riguarda il concerto, i quattro cantanti sono uniti ad un disc jockey e quattro ballerine. I fan possono vedere anche scene di ogni membro della band e vari cambi d'abito!
"E' uno spettacolo in piena forma".

“The crowds are just as hyped,” Carter said during a July 22 phone interview from Los Angeles, where the group had just performed a taping for the George Lopez show. “Some (fans) are a little older, but they’re bringing younger ones. There is fresh blood for the Backstreet Boys.”Band members certainly are a little older. Carter, 30, is the youngest. Howie Dorough 
is 36, Brian Littrell 35 and AJ McLean 32. “The years are adding up, but it doesn’t feel like it we’re always looking to the future and not living in the past.”
Fans, however, can expect to hear many of the hit songs from the past.
“A lot of people come to hear the old songs we give them all of the top hits. They will hear ‘I Want It That Way.If you go to a Prince concert you want to hear ‘1999’ and ‘Raspberry Beret’” .The Backstreet Boys attracted mainly female audiences with their tours in the 1990s and continue to draw similar crowds since opening their current tour last fall.Girls just want to have fun at a Backstreet Boys concert.
“It’s female, probably 75 percent,you trickle in grandmothers and newborns and you’ve got a Backstreet Boys show. And there are some guys there.”
Carter’s uncertain how many of today’s fans came to concerts when the boys were teens.
“We probably see some of the same people, but it’s hard to tell when you’re up there on stage,they look a little older, maybe closer to your own age.”
Personal lives have changed over the years for the Backstreet Boys. Littrell and Dorough are married, Carter and McLean remain single.
“I’ve got a girlfriend,and AJ has a girlfriend.”
The group released their “This Is Us
” album last year. After performing adult contemporary songs for a few years, the boys returned to their roots with an album full of their dance-pop sound.
“It’s the rebirth of a whole new era to this group,it’s the stake in the ground, the flag on the moon. It’s the start of what’s to come.”
As far as the concert, the four singers are joined by a disc jockey as well as four dancers. Fans also will see video vignettes about each band member and plenty of costume changes.
